I graduated from the MFA in Performance Costume at Edinburgh College of Art in June 2021 with a Distinction, having returned to education as a mature student, and am seeking work experience or a trainee role within the costume department of a film or TV production.
With a BA (Hons) in Printed Textiles I have an extensive background as a Print and Embroidery designer for womenswear fashion, and am keen to transfer my skills in hand painting, printing and dyeing textiles to working in costume. I have worked in fast paced textile print studios, with additional roles in art direction, interviewing design candidates, sales and studio management. With many years’ experience of self-employment, I am comfortable with working long hours to meet deadlines, and am self-motivated, organised and able to remain calm and reliable under pressure.
I work with exacting attention to detail and think logically, laterally and creatively to solve problems, with the ability to prioritise, use my initiative and adapt to changing circumstances. I thrive on the creative interaction that comes from working as part of a team, tackle tasks with enthusiasm, and am positive, friendly and approachable.
