About Jyoti
Jyoti Sigouin is a textile designer and artist working in interiors, fashion and costume. She creates imagery on paper and fabric using mixed media and screen-printing. The use of pattern and colour are integral to her practice.
Her earliest memories are of hours spent absorbed in drawing imaginary worlds peopled by figures in fantastical outfits, and she has never lost this desire to tell a story through imagery and design.
She is currently developing abstract geometric patterns and pictorial scenes which draw inspiration from the architecture of the Victorian tenements of Marchmont in Edinburgh.
